All Campus Crusade for Christ New Staff are
required to complete three theological courses:

    1. Intro to Christian Theology
    2. Bible Study Methods
    3. New Testament Survey

Exemptions and Participation in New Staff Training

In order to be considered for a course exemption from Intro to Christian Theology or Bible Study Methods, you must have completed an equivalent graduate-level course. To qualify for an exemption from New Testament Survey, you need to have completed either an undergraduate or graduate New Testament Survey course.

Exemption from these courses does not entail exemption from participation in this component of the New Staff Training conference. Even if you are exempt from Intro to Christian Doctrine, you will still be asked to audit this because of the pivotal role it plays in introducing the theological identity of Campus Crusade for Christ. In addition, there are other important elements of NST that occur at the same time as the courses. In past years New Staff with graduate theological degrees have served as teaching assistants (TA’s).

Each course from which you are exempt will lower the cost of the conference by about $300.

New Testament Survey Exemptions

If you have completed a New Testament Survey course, either at the undergraduate or graduate level from an accredited school with a grade of C or better, you may be exempt from this course. If you want to be considered for a course exemption there are two steps you must take.

  • Second, you must send a copy of your transcript to the IBS Registrar. (If you took a theological course through CCC overseas, see below.) Mail your transcript to:

Expectations for Mothers with Young Children

The role of mothers in the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ cannot be overstated. As a result, we ask mothers to participate in the same vital theological training that all New Staff receive. However, in light of our commitment to the family and the workload these courses require, moms will have a reduced workload. Moms will only be required to attend and complete, for credit, Intro to Christian Theology. This is intended to free up time in the afternoon to accommodate the family. Moms are still required to complete Bible Study Methods but they can take that class when they return to IBS in the future. (NOTE: New Testament Survey is offered by independent study as you raise support. Mothers will still be required to complete this course.)

Records for Campus Crusade Courses Completed Overseas

There is no world-wide database of all CCC theological courses. If you took a theological course offered by CCC while you were serving in some other part of the world, you will need to contact the professor (or administrator) who taught the class and have them send an email directly to ibs.info@uscm.org stating:

    1. your full name
    2. the name of the course
    3. when and where it was taught
    4. the grade you received.

It is your responsibility to obtain this information.
